Vitamin K is a Fat-soluble vitamin that comes from the German word “Koagulations vitamin". It found in leafy green vegetables, broccoli, and Brussels sprouts. Two types of Vitamin K are Vitamin K1 (phytonadione) and Vitamin K2 (menaquinone). The active all-trans menaquinone in vitamin K2 is MK-7. Vitamin K plays a major role in blood clotting So it is used to reverse the effects of “blood-thinning” medications when too much is given, treats bleeding caused by medications, stimulates bone tissue and osteoblast precursors, improves arterial stiffness in healthy postmenopausal women, especially in women having high arterial stiffness.
